2010 The Year of The Classic.

Mark my words, this year will be “The Year of the Classic” motorcycle. The Royal Enfield Classic that is!

Here are two basic reasons:

  • Speed Cameras and zero tolerance of speeding
  • Higher petrol prices…

A 500cc low revving, torquey, reliable motor that will sit on 100kph and return up to 80mpg make good sense. A bike with instant character and pedigree makes the whole deal better.

If you’re in the market for an easy to ride, basic new motorcycle, then for $10, 000 you can’t go past an RE C5 Classic…. Test Rides are only available on deposit…Sorry we don’t do joyrides or entertain tyre-kickers.

Lets us help you get on a Real Bike and be able to enjoy Motorcycling without fear on losing your licence.

Merry Xmas from FNQ’s Largest Royal Enfield Dealer!

HO Ho HO (or is that three American ladies of dubious employment?!)

A large thank you to all our new RE customers. This will be a great Xmas and we hope you get to enjoy your brilliant machines.

We wish you a safe riding new year and good health.

C5’s check out Cairns.

One of the best little rides around town is up to Copperlode Dam. Spectacular views, lots of 40kph corners and great coffee at the dam wall kiosk.

Beware it’s a tourist road and bicycle training road with walkers and hikers, and the surface is rough in places. It is NOT the road for ‘Gravel Grinding’, just a pleasant ride.

Oh Yea of Little Faith..

Last weekend attended a group ride or was that Race! organised by the Shire riders to Mt Carbine…
There is obviously still some old school thought that Royal Enfields really should not leave town, as I overheard this intelligent comment…’Gee he was at the last stop and he beat us here to the lunch stop’..and guess what fellows the bike actually got me home, left no trace of oil smear anywhere and I passed a couple of wallowing boat anchors up and down the Rex.
Concerned about the reliability of the new RE’s..don’t be, they are meant to be ridden everyday, allday and give you excellent fuel economy.
A 500cc machine won’t give you rocket ship performance, but will cruise @ 100-110 all day and you will keep your licence. Why do we need 1700cc of engine? Why do we need 250kg+ weight..RE’s are back to basics and will give you a ‘true motorcycling experience’
Great day by the shire riders except for the ‘gravel grinders’..Mt Carbine Shire riders run 09

Michael & Ralph’s Cousin picks up C5

Not content with having Michael win a couple of minor world F1 titles, distant cousin Johnny has taken delivery of his own performance machine. Sure to cut thru the pit paddock with that helmet, both Johnny and mate Burkee will be a common sight around town, both riding their Royal Enfield C5 Classics.

Pictured is Mike (another returnee to motorcycling after many years off) about to enjoy his 1st ride on his new C5 from the Shed.
“It like I’ve never been off a bike, this cycle is just so familiar and confidence boosting, and just oozes character”
We kid you not readers, these new Enfields are the ‘ducks nuts’….
Delivery is now early December, so if you want one, come and see us soon, as the last shipment 2 weeks ago is ‘ all but the billy butt”Mic pics up his Black C5

Maroon C5 Hits The Streets of Cairns

The 1st Maroon/Red Classic is now on the streets/roads of Cairns. Pictured is ‘Bourkie’ leaving the Shed on his new pride and joy.Bourkie Maroon C5

C5 Gets a Eagle eater Screen

As the new bike are capable of 100kph sustained touring speeds, I needed a windbreak to reduce the windsock effect a naked bike gives, hence the decision to fit a medium, lightly smoked Eagle screen. Looks good too.

Royalty Finally Hits Cairns

Our new blog site will be an easy way for you, the lovers and carers of great machinery to be updated as to the trials and tribulations of our Royal Enfield Dealership in Cairns.

Weekly I will endevour to publish updates about  our shop machine, a C5 Classic and riders machines as the bikes begin their infiltration into the Harlyesque dominance about town.

The shops Demo has presently just 12ookms on the clock and beginning to run very well. Handling is great, brakes are great, comfort is good (I won’t say great as I need to get used to riding again after a 15 year or so hiatus) so my aging body needs some retuning to the physcial aspect of riding again.

The bike so far has been to the Warbirds in Mareeba, The Mareeba Workers Club Bike show, around the Atherton loop, up the Julatten loop and lots more roadwork. The interest in a new model is terrific, with the most common response being ‘ wow did you restore that yourself’ or ‘ is it original’ of course it is, its 4 week old.!!!
